Nikon India launches 16 new cameras in Coolpix Spring Series

Nikon India on Tuesday announced the launch of 16 new cameras in its Coolpix Spring Series 2014.

The cameras
Coolpix S9600, Coolpix S6800, Coolpix S5300, Coolpix S6700, Coolpix S3600, Coolpix S32 and Coolpix S2800. The Coolpix S9700 has a 16-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor, 30x optical zoom which can be extended to 60x using the Dynamic Fine Zoom 1, built in GPS, and a travel log that maps routes on a world map.

The Coolpix S9600 has a 16-megapixel backside illuminated CMOS sensor, with a 22x optical zoom, that can be extended to 44x using the Dynamic Fine Zoom1. The models in the S-series have features like Wi-Fi, anti-shake, built-in maps, high zoom water and shock proof amongst others. The Life series or 'L'-series is the next in the Coolpix line up. The cameras released in this series include, Coolpix L830, Coolpix L830, Coolpix L330, Coolpix L30 and Coolpix L29. The Coolpix L830 is a bridge camera that has a 16-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor. On the other hand the Coolpix L330 has a 26x zoom and a 3-inch HVGA anti-reflective monitor.

The last in the range is the All Weather line. Nikon has a single entrant in this market namely the Nikon Coolpix AW120. It is waterproof up to a depth of 18m, shock proof to two metres, and temperature resistant up to -10 degrees Celsius. Dust-proofing on the camera is compliant with JIS/IEC Class 6 (IP6X). The camera shoots photos and videos with 6.9 frames per second of continuous shooting.Speaking at the announcement Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said, "In the new Coolpix spring range 2014 we've incorporated useful features and technology.

The compact and portable size makes these cameras ideal to have on-hand." The Coolpix line a total of 21 models across the nation available in a total of 57 colours. The P Series models (Coolpix P600, Coolpix P530 and Coolpix P340) are priced between Rs. 18,950 to Rs. 23,950. The S series models ( Coolpix S9700, Coolpix S9600, Coolpix S6800, Coolpix S5300, Coolpix S6700, Coolpix S3600, Coolpix S32 and Coolpix S2800) are priced between Rs. 6,450 to Rs. 18,950. The L Series models ( Coolpix L830, Coolpix L330, Coolpix L30 and Coolpix L29) are priced between Rs.4990 to Rs. 15,450. Lastly the Coolpix AW120) is priced at Rs. 17,950.
