iPhone 7 Was the World's Bestselling Smartphone in Q1 2017: Strategy Analytics

Apple iPhone 7 has emerged as the worlds bestselling smartphone model in the first quarter of 2017, with an estimated shipment of 21.5 million units that captured six percent market-share worldwide, a new report said. Apple iPhone 7 Plus, with a bigger screen and higher price, shipped 17.4 million units for second place and 5 percent market-share worldwide in first quarter of 2017, according to market research firm Strategy Analytics. "Global smartphone shipments reached a robust 353.3 million units in first quarter of 2017. The top-five most popular models together accounted for 1 in 6 of all smartphones shipped worldwide during the quarter," said Neil Mawston, Executive Director Strategy Analytics, in a statement on Wednesday. iPhone 8 Ion-X Glass Production Delay Yield Issues Shipments Revised KGI Kuo

iPhone 8 rumours are so contradictory these days, it's hard to believe what's true and what's not. However, when the Intel comes from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, you can't help but presume it's true. In a fresh note to his investors, Kuo claims that the iPhone 8 is facing several production issues, indicating that the production cycle won't begin before October or November. Also, an image leak gives us a look at the purported Ion-X glass back of the iPhone 8, while also divulging more details about the material. 9to5Mac got hold of this report, and the note suggests that Kuo is worried about yield issues with Touch ID, the 3D front camera, and even component parts to build the 'newly-designed' iPhone 8 hardware. Lenovo has started sending media invites for an event in India on March 15, where the company is set to unveil the Moto G5 Plus. The invite shared by the company confirms that the Moto G5 Plus will be unveiled at the event though there is no mention whether the Moto G5 will be also announced at the same event. Airtel Announces 'War on Roaming' With Free Incoming Calls, No Outgoing premium

Bharti Airtel on Monday announced revisions to its domestic and international roaming charges. With the new announcement, Airtel will stop charging for incoming calls while roaming across India. Additionally, the company says that it will stop asking for premium charges on outgoing calls while roaming. For international roaming starting April 1 2017, the company says it will offer customers protection from bill shocks. Airtel said that call charges have been reduced by up to 90 percent to as low as Rs. 3 per minute on international roaming while data charges by up to 99 percent to Rs. 3 per MB across popular roaming destinations The company in a press statement announcing new roaming revisions calls it "Death of National Roaming" where it will offer free incoming calls and SMS.
