After weeks of speculation, Nokia 's new budget Windows Phone, the Lumia 525 , is now official. Unfortunately, there is no word on the availability and pricing of the Lumia 525 for various markets. However, Engadget notes that the Lumia 525's official listing includes three regions - Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East. The major highlight of the Nokia Lumia 525 is that the smartphone features 1GB of RAM, which is double than the 512MB RAM found on other budget Lumia smartphones ( Nokia Lumia 520 , Nokia Lumia 620 and Nokia Lumia 625). Other specifications of the Lumia 525 are identical to the Lumia 520. The Nokia Lumia 525 runs Windows Phone 8 with the Lumia Black update. It features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) IPS LCD display, translating to a pixel density of 235ppi. The Lumia 525 is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor alongside 1GB of RAM. Biel Crystal Manufactory Ltd, a Hong-Kong based company that makes screens for Apple Inc, is violating workers' rights at its Chinese factories, a Hong Kong rights group alleged in a report. The Students & Scholars Against Corporate Misbehaviour (SACOM) report said Biel Crystal, which makes iPhone screens, requires its employees to work 11-hour shifts, seven days a week, with only one day off each month. Employees are also often injured and not given reasonable compensation and have to sign blank contracts, the report said. At least five workers at the firm's Guangdong factory in mainland China committed suicide since 2011, it added. There was no immediate comment from Biel Crystal on the report. It appears that LG is already working on a successor to the G Flex curved display smartphone, one that sports better bendable features. A new report by ZDnet claims that the South Korean manufacturer is working on the LG G Flex's successor. The report reveals that the alleged G Flex successor, thought to be dubbed G Flex 2, would come with special hard rubber body allowing it to bend up to a 90 degree angle. Further, the report notes that the alleged G Flex 2 would include a flexible battery inside, although there is no word on the removable battery. The report also speculates that LG might launch the second smartphone in its G Flex series in Q2 2014. As of now, there is no word on the specifications of the rumoured G Flex 2 smartphone . Google boss Eric Schmidt said Monday that the tech giant had developed new technology that makes it harder to find child sexual abuse images on the web. Writing in British newspaper the Daily Mail, Google's executive chairman said more than 100,000 searches would no longer feature such material in their results. The restrictions will initially apply to English-speaking countries but will be expanded to the rest of the world and 158 other languages within six months. The announcement comes ahead of Monday's Internet Safety Summit at Prime Minister David Cameron's Downing Street office, where Google and Microsoft will be joined by other Internet firms. In July, Cameron urged search engines to go further in blocking surfers from accessing illegal images. Sony Corp said on Sunday it had sold 1 million units of its new PlayStation 4 gaming console in the first 24 hours that it was available in the United States and Canada. The console, which Sony is counting on to kick-start a revival of its consumer electronics business, went on sale on November 15. Andrew House, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment, the unit of Sony that oversees PlayStation, said in a statement that "sales remain very strong in North America." Google said Thursday the number of requests for user data from governments and law enforcement has doubled since 2010, as it renewed a push to reveal more about US demands. In its updated "transparency report" covering the first six months of 2013, the tech giant said the largest number of requests 10,918 came from the United States.
