Lava Mobiles' new budget smartphone, the Iris 354e, is now listed at an online retailer for Rs. 3,415. As of now, the smartphone is out-of-stock at the e-commerce website, and offers a 'Notify Me' option to consumers. The company is yet to unveil the Iris 354e for the Indian market. The Lava Iris 354e runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device, with support for dual standby. It features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480 pixels) display. The Iris 354e is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset), along with 256MB of RAM.
Samsung India on Friday launched the Galaxy A9 Pro in India. Priced at Rs. 32,490, the smartphone will be made available in India from September 26 in Black, Gold, and White colour variants. The highlight of the smartphone is its large 6-inch display and its 5000mAh battery. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro was launched in China back in March. The smartphone bears some upgrades compared to the Samsung Galaxy A9, thus the 'Pro' moniker, sporting 4GB of RAM, a 5000mAh, and a 16-megapixel camera instead of 3GB of RAM, a 4000mAh battery, and a 13-megapixel camera. The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and sports a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super-Amoled display, and is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. A developer has tipped changes in Android 5.1 that are responsible for the perceived boost in the performance of the Nexus 6. While a number of changes have been observed beyond the official changelog of Android 5.1 Lollipop, which started rolling out earlier this month, a few new changes have been reported by a developer that optimise the performance and battery life of the Google Nexus 6. According to Francisco Franco, a developer, Google has made some changes in Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Nexus 6 smartphone which makes it faster. The developer states that after the update, all the four cores in Snapdragon 805 run all the time. Previously some cores were left idle based on the performance load, and the change apart from boosting aid to save time by not activating cores based on need.
